Singapore government is removing the age limit for IVF treatment beginning 2020. Older couples will also be receiving finanical relief with the new subsidy enhancement to support marriage and parenthood.

Previously capped at the age limit of 45, older women will have to sought treatments overseas.

By withdrawing the age limit, women who are beyond 45, who are still fertile and remain healthy can continue to try for a baby with medical intervention. With this new measure leaves the choice of childbearing to couples who marry late and want to have children.

Nonetheless, as the success rate of IUI for women is less than a few per cent and IVF is as high as 15 per cent, the government still urge couples to try treatments before 40.
